Holidays Abroad are Still in Downfall
As we already know we are in the midst of one of the largest credit crisis's in decades, one of the worst affected sectors has been the overseas travel industry and things do not look like they are going to be getting better any time soon.
More and more British people are still holidaying in the UK abandoning overseas destinations and this could lead to a bout of super cheap holidays in the Summer of 2009. Folk are hugely cutting back amid fears that the pound has become hugely weak compared to other currencies.
But things are not all negative because All inclusive package trips have actually taken a huge rise in bookings as folk look to lower their costs, especially to countries such as Turkey and Egypt. Looking from another point of view self catering accommodation is still down a big amount in countries such as Greece, Spain, Portugal, the Canaries and the Algarve, so you could actually look at booking a cheap holiday this summer as people lower their costs to get hotel rooms full up.
Again things are not all bad, because huge amounts of money are being pumped back into the UK economy, with caravan and UK family holidays being booked up in the dozen. Some places are even turning people away, as they have run out of spaces.
Although prices are still currently low for late overseas destination bookings, authorities warn that "The consumer that books late is taking a gamble that flight prices to the Western Med will remain low but there is a risk that these seat prices will sky rocket in June.”
So if you are looking to go away this summer I would look at booking it within the next month, so that you can effectively keep your costs down, as the economy has the tendency to change in an instant.

Why Holidaying Abroad is Cheaper
We can all see that the credit crisis is in full motion swing and with that comes a wave of unemployment. Folk are not spending as much as they used to simply because they do not have it. So what has happened is that people have gave up their holidays abroad and have decided to stay in the UK for their breaks as it is said that it is a lot cheaper. But is this really the truth?
Although the pound is simply not as powerful as it once used you be going to overseas destinations can still be a very viable option and in some ways it can work out a lot cheaper then staying in the UK for your vacation. The reason behind this is as follows:
People abroad have for a long time been increasing their prices year after year because they knew that the tourists had to pay for it. In some lights destinations abroad started to get ever so greedy, they knew they could charge a fortune and get away with it so thats exactly what they did. But now that the economic downturn is in place people are thinking that overseas destinations will literally cost too much, but that is not the case at all due to countries beginning to get worried and lower their prices.
So going away to a foreign destination would be a lot cheaper then it used to be a few years ago. I do think that going all inclusive will be a much better method due to the fact that you wont have to worry about spending any more money.
