Fast Track To Learning German

My dream vacation to Germany, France and Switzerland was finally arriving. Europe was a place that I always wanted to visit. I was always fascinated by Germany and wanted to go to the country during Oktoberfest. There were just three months left for my vacation to begin. I had to plan for the vacation and wanted to cover as many off the track places as possible. These places are never visible on a tourist map.
I was never a great fan of packaged tours as tour companies usually pack off a lot of tourists like a can of sardines and there is very little room for flexibility and last minute changes in a schedule. I wanted to see these three countries on my own time and at my own pace.
It was inevitable that I be thorough with my travel plans. I wanted to make sure that my travel plans allowed me to visit all of the possible places. I relied heavily on the advice of my friends and read about the countries that I was planning to visit.
I realized that there was something that I had missed out. If I was going to visit these countries, then I ought to know at least basic German. I wondered if it was not too late to do something about learning German.
There were little over two months left for my trip to begin. I still had a number of things to do. I asked myself if it would be possible for me to learn German within the remaining time. I searched the Internet and read the Rocket German review. I downloaded the course and didn’t regret my decision. The course consisted of a number of useful tools that helped me to learn German.
I was able to finish my course before my trip started. It helped me a lot to learn the German language and made my trip extremely enjoyable.

Info about Germany

To start I want to claim that the general public are right, Germany is a good place to visit. I heard on the radio the other day that over 4,000,000 Yankees visited Germany in 2005 and to be truthful it didn’t shock me at all. With so many beautiful things to see and experience who would not be interested?

Lets start off with the obvious attractions : Castles, German Lager and German Food.

Castles : maybe the number one attraction of Germany. Castles are one of Germanys most significant cherished possessions. With at least one Castle in each single decent sized town in Germany, you may always have a place to visit no matter where your travels in Germany take you. Many of these Castles have nice cafes within where you are given information on the historical price of the firm, not to say great food in my experience.

German Beer: Many say that German beer is the best worldwide, due to this quantity of German breweries are reluctant to give up their ‘tricks of the trade’ many exclaiming ‘its in the water’. If this is true or not Germany definitely has a name for providing delicious preservative free beer. The German regime really remits that just a couple of major igredients are to be added to the lager and no chemicals can be added, BY LAW.

German Food : I am sure that you all have either heard about or attempted some of the classic German dishes, i.e. Schnitzel, Wursts ( German sausage ) and Spatzle, but what you may not have attempted are just some of the ‘not so traditional’ but common dishes in Germany. If you are planning a trip to Germany I recommend going to any German restaurant and ordering the house special. Most eateries, just like in the U.S., have a place special that is not like restaurant to cafe and will generally be very delicious.

Explore the Ancient History of Ingolstadt Germany

Situated at the pretty Danube Stream in the center of Bavaria, Ingolstadt is an example of the eldest and most charming cities in Germany.

Early settlements prove the existence of a density of population since 1800 BC. The first time Ingolstadt was mentioned in an official document was in the year 806 by Carl the Great and it became its town rights in 1250. Although that, the town is being considered found around six hundred AD by Ingold. The name was first “Ingoldes Stadt” ( Town of Ingold ), but across the centuries it’s received its present name – Ingolstadt.

An interesting thing to know about Ingolstadt’s history is the foundation the Bavarian Illuminati, a famous secret society, which was established by Adam Weishaupt in 1776. Likewise , Ingolstadt is the seat of the car company AUDI, which was set up by August Horch. AUDI is also assumed by some to be an acronym for Auto Union Deutschland Ingolstadt. The city has a very successful ice hockey team called ERC Ingolstadt, which is presently in the first place of the DEL in Germany and made the second place in last years’ play-offs. The city is also the setting of the famous book “Frankenstein” by Mary Shelly.

Through the centuries, the town middle of Ingolstadt has kept its old typical town architecture style and buildings that date from the middle Ages. Some pieces of the town wall are revived in their original look and there are 2 museums that are worth a visit, like the Military Museum, the Toy Museum, the German Medication Historical Museum and others.

Although this town has a quite little population of roughly 122 000 folk, Ingolstadt has a large number of banquets celebrated throughout the year. The most renowned ones are the “Pfingstvolksfest” ( 02.06-11.06 ) and the “Herbstfest” ( 22.09-03.10 ), where people are drinking lots of lager, enjoying the theme park-like atmosphere and looking at the tiny sales booths. You could actually say that it’s a small version of Oktoberfest. Having mentioned these beer-feasts, it now appears suitable to name the 4 breweries, which are providing the beer for them and are of course situated in Ingolstadt: “Ingobräu”, “Herrnbräu”, “Nordbräu” and “Westpark Bräu 1516″. Other bigger feasts are the “Brunnenfest” (01.04-17.04), “Septemberdult” (09.09-17.09 and the “Christkindlmarkt” (01.12-23.12). In this year there’ll be even more banquets and parties, as Ingolstadt is celebrating its anniversary – exactly 1200 years, in February.
