Mosquito Bites – The Best Action To Take
Mosquitoes can sometimes completely ruin what was set to be a perfect holiday. You’re enjoying one of your fun caribbean holidays getting lots of sun and suddenly (often overnight) you find yourself covered in loads of itchy bites. Quite often we are invading on their territory so being bothered by mosquitoes is usually to be expecte. That’s not to say we should accept our suffering however. Simply use this little tricks and you won’t even know you have the bites any more.
1.) Soap and water should be used to clean out the bite and also the area surrounding it. You should make sure you do this as soon as you have picked up the bite as it will prevent too much swelling and will help guard you against infection. You should continue to keep all bites clean until they have gone down, especcially if your somewhere that maybe has lower standards of cleanliness like Thailand holidays
2.) Get some ice into a cloth and cover the bite area. This will cool the surrounding area and reduce blood flow to the bite site. This will then cause general itching and pain relief as well as work to reduce the swelling effect
3.) For a natural way to reduce discomfort, use baking soda and salt. mix 1 parts salt to 5 parts baking soda and then slowly add water until a paste starts to form. The baking soda will bring down swelling and the salt will decrease itching. Something that is also natural and works in pretty much the same way is aloe vera
4.) You may also want to seek relief from a number of the man-made treatment creams. A tropical anaesthetic that contains pramxomin or calamine lotion will help with irritation and pain. You should really try any medication on one bite first to see if it has any adverse effects. If not then you can continue to use on any other bites.
5.) Treatment tablets are another way to reduce the side effects of mosquito bites. An anti-histamine will work to reduce the bodies negative response to the bite and will generally make you feel bett. Anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen do pretty much the same job but better reduce swelling
